Brent Hi. I'm 6'1" and have reddish-brown hair and Brown eyes. I'm a Physical Therapist at a hospital. I got my degree from The Ohio State University in Allied Medicine and I'm a huge Buckeye fan. I'm also known as a bit of a jokester. I have a quirky sense of humor. I was raised Presbyterian though I attend mostly Catholic church now with Valerie and Jacob. I met Valerie in High School and am lucky enough to have married my best friend. We have grown together as friends, as a couple and as parents. Like a typical guy, I like sports of all types to play and watch. I also like running, hiking and camping but my favorite thing is going to the Beach. I really enjoy the water, sand and sun. I love spending time with my family and reliving childhood with our son, Jacob. I am looking forward to having another child in our family. I never really knew how much I would love being a father! Valerie I am about 5'2" tall with light brown to dark blond hair. I have brown eyes. My most important job and greatest pleasure now is stay at home mom to our 3 year old son, Jacob whom we adopted in 2003. But before that, I was a Social Worker working with kids and families as well as therapy and medical social work. I graduated from The Ohio State University(Go Bucks!) with a bachelor's degree in Psychology and from The University of Cincinnati with a Master's Degree in Social work. I was born and raised Catholic. I am of Italian and Irish Decent. My dad is from a large Italian family who still celebrates every holiday and major event together. I am typically a pretty laid back person and most people think I'm easy to approach to and talk to. I like to stay active and enjoy family time doing all kinds of activities. Jacob has really reminded me of how fun it is to be a kid! I feel blessed to be married to Brent, a truly wonderful guy who enjoys and values many of the same things I do and to have a beautiful son. I am excited about growing our family through adoption and having another wonderful person in our lives! Jacob As I type for him, Jacob says he is three years old and would make a good big brother one day. He has blond hair and blue eyes. He is a very active 3, almost 4 year old. He loves anything involving running, jumping, climbing or pretending to be some kind of super hero! His favorite color is yellow and he plans to be a member of the Wiggles some day(or a superhero or firefighter or teacher etc etc). Some of his favorite things are participating in our Mom & Tot's club activities like kids days out at the fire station, farms, play dates, luncheons and the activities of our social service clubs. He enjoys playing with friends and his cousins but can't wait to have a brother or sister of his own. About our Family and Home Our home is filled with love and respect for one another and a sense of true partnership. Brent and I were high school sweethearts. Every time we think we've been through it all together, we learn or experience something new! Our family grew in 2003 when we adopted Jacob. He is a joy in our lives and we want to continue to grow our family through adoption. Jacob is excited about having a little brother or sister and we are pleased that our children will have the adoption experience in common. We love to spend time together as a family. We enjoy playing sports and spending time outdoors. We love taking family vacations especially now with little ones! We have been blessed with wonderful things in our lives and a great family that we love. We are hoping to welcome another child into our lives to share our lives and make our family more complete. We also have two dogs, Sammy and Blue. Sammy was a stray dog that "found" Valerie and she couldn't resist him. Blue was the last puppy out of a litter and his big brown eyes melted our hearts! Both are very sweet dogs and get along with children very well. Our Home We live in a two-story 3-bedroom home in a young, family-oriented neighborhood with lots of kids. Valerie organizes a neighborhood playgroup and our house is often the center of many play dates and impromptu neighborhood gatherings. We have a fenced-in yard for kids and dogs to play in. Since Jacob was born we have converted our basement into a playroom and have an upstairs playroom as well. We are within walking distance to schools, church, parks and a historic downtown area with many unique activities including a horse and carriage Christmas parade that has become a family tradition during the holidays! We are members of a great YMCA that has many activities specifically designed for children. Most of our family, parents, grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, siblings and cousins live within an hour of our home. We thank you for taking the time to get to know us a little and would love to meet you and share more about ourselves if you would like. You probably have a lot of questions about us. We are willing to discuss option adoption options that everyone could be comfortable with. Although Jacob's Birth Family has given us some insight, we can't possibly imagine the depth of courage, unselfishness, love and caring expectant parents who choose adoption plans must have but we are eternally grateful. Your strength and choice helps dreams come true for others hoping to build families through adoption. We pray that God comforts you in any decision you make for you and the future of your child. close window |
