adoptive family profile
      Karen, Tyler & Bob

Bob
Bob is a thirty year old male, Caucasian, with fairly dark complexion, contributed from being in the sun all his life. He is 5'-10" and weighs approximately 165 pounds. He has light brown hair and blue eyes. He is a laid back person. He is very shy in unfamiliar settings but can be rather boisterous with close family and friends. He tries not to sweat the small stuff, but however, when something he feels strongly about comes along, he's not afraid to stand his ground. Bob is currently a Construction Manager for the family business. He is very hopeful of one day carrying on the business and building their family's home.

Karen
Karen is a twenty-eight year old Caucasian woman who has blond hair, blue eyes and a fair complexion. She is 5'6" and approximately 135 pounds. She is a very organized, yet a relaxed person. She enjoys keeping her house in order, her to-do list short, and spending her free time playing! She looks forward to vacations, quiet evenings at home with her family, and playing with her nieces, nephews, and dog. She considers herself a nurturing, intelligent, honest and approachable person. Karen is currently a part-time kindergarten teacher. She has been teaching for 5 years and is currently working on her master's degree. Being an available mom is her number one priority.

Tyler
Tyler is an 18 month old bi-racial boy who has brown hair, brown eyes, and a beautiful brown complexion. He is 36" tall and approximately 26 pounds. He enjoys playing and swimming in the back yard, playing with trains, cars, and watching Elmo! He looks forward to going to grandma and grandpa's house and seeing his cousins often. He joyfully awaits a sibling to play, giggle, and have fun with.

Don't forget Halie! She is our Black Lab-Visla mix. She joined our family in September 2001, and is very playful yet has a calm temperament. She enjoys taking walks, playing fetch and sleeping throughout the day.

Our Family
Our family is something that is very important to us. We were blessed with Tyler in 2005 and look forward to bringing another blessing into our family. We are very fortunate to be close with our extended families. Bob's family is quickly growing from the original family of seven to now being fifteen and one on the way not including ours! Karen's family began as four and is now up to nine. We eat dinner each week with our families and take many vacations together. We frequently travel to South Carolina and go camping on summer weekends with our families too.

Adoption
Adoption is something that has always been a part of Karen's life. Her mother was adopted through Catholic Social Services in 1951. Bob and Karen's nephew was adopted in 2004 and their first child in 2005. Their families are very supportive and eagerly await the arrival of another child.

Our Home
We enjoyed taking on the challenge of fixing up an out of date and structurally damaged home. We have remodeled and updated almost the entire home and enjoy our quiet neighborhood. We currently live in a two-story four bedroom home at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac street. Our neighborhood is very family-friendly oriented with plenty of kids of all ages.
